Grace here – your friendly Bizango content creator. I spend my workdays helping Bizango clients tell their stories and manage their social media interactions. I love working for Bizango because we work on a mix of on-going projects and one-time assignments. Every week I find myself doing something different.
One of my favorite types of assignments is creating a business’s website content from scratch. More than a blog post or media campaign, new business websites are about telling a story and crafting a vision. I work closely with our design staff to make sure that the tone of the content fits the design of each page and the personality of the business. This intensive process takes time, and I love delving into the enhancement of a brand identity.
This process is made even more meaningful by the meetings I have with our clients. While most small business owners don’t have the time to write down all of their own web copy, they all have stories to tell. I love learning about the reasons why people have branched out on their own to start a new business. I love to hear about how their company has evolved and changed over the years. Most of all I love to hear about their vision for the future. Even if their stories don’t make it into the final website, their voice certainly does. When I write for others I try to capture what makes them unique. In the bustling start-up scene of Seattle, standing out is crucial to success. While I certainly look at comparable websites, I keep my focus on the unique vision of our client. Insert old adage about being yourself here.
Meeting with clients also offers up a plethora of new opportunities for the Bizango team. Last week, on a walk to the office of a new client, I met a real life beaver. This semi-aquatic mammal was just chilling by a boat dock probably waiting for some friends. I approached slowly, trying to be respectful of this majestic animal’s personal privacy. Still, as I passed I couldn’t help snap a few pictures of this waterfront celebrity in the flesh.
Check it out!!
Needless to say, when I got back and told the rest of Bizango team about the beaver we immediately shut down the office and booked tickets for an Alaskan wildlife tour. Well, not quite, but we talked about that for like 10 minutes.
Telling stories and building brands, that’s what I love to do. Working with Bizango means I get to do that every day. And sometimes I get to see beavers.
